What are the after-school program hours?
High school after-school programs take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  
Middle school after-school programs take place from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

I am a student at a college other than Georgia Tech.  Can I apply?

Yes!  We hire students from other colleges in the Metro Atlanta area such as Emory, Georgia State, Morehouse, Oglethorpe, Kennesaw, and Spelman.  All college students will complete the same application. Click here for more information

I do not have a GTID number!  What should I do?

If you are a student at a college or university other than Georgia Tech, leave this area blank and check the box for Non-Georgia Tech Student.

What if I am not a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident?

We are able to hire F-1 International students for the GoSTEM – Pathways to College Program, but please make sure you are eligible for Georgia Tech on-campus employment and you apply for a social security.  If you have any questions in regards to employment with an F-1 Visa, please refer to the Office of International Education website for more information:

How much are mentors paid?

GoSTEM – Pathways to College mentors are paid $11 per hour on a bi-weekly basis.  Mentors are compensated for their time working with students, training, and travel.

Do I need a car to work in GoSTEM – Pathways to College?

Yes, you will need a car to travel to the schools in the GoSTEM - Pathways to College Program.

Where are the schools? What are they like?

The Gwinnett County School System is located approximately 25 minutes northeast of Georgia Tech.  It is the state’s largest school district with over 175,800 students. The ethnic distribution of the schools we partner with is 58% Hispanic, 27% African American, 9% Asian, and 4% White.  You can find more information about the school district at http://www.gwinnett.k12.ga.us.

When is my interview?

We are unable to guarantee an interview for all applicants.  If a member of our staff contacts you, please respond promptly via email or phone to establish your interview day and time.

What does the interview consist of?

The interview consists of an oral interview with one or more members of the CEISMC Academic Mentoring Staff and a math assessment.
